Choose GOB when the screen is outdoors, close to people, exposed to moisture, or used for rental events. Choose SMD for indoor installations that need finer resolution, lighter cabinets, and a lower cost per square meter.
GOB adds a protective resin layer over the LED module, helping resist impact, dust, and moisture. SMD exposes the mounted LEDs more directly, so it is best in controlled indoor environments.
For close indoor viewing, P1.8-P2.5 SMD usually gives sharper text and images. For outdoor signage viewed from several meters away, P3-P6 GOB often provides a better balance of durability and cost.
